After a blockbuster transfer last year filled with drama, Remco Evenepoel is making his debut with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe today. It will be in a team time trial, which will be an important test as this discipline is set to return at the Tour de France in July. His team is the main favourite to take the win today, although other squads such as Movistar, UAE or Tudor shouldn't be overlooked, as they also arrive with solid time trial specialists. Meanwhile, we also have the third stage of the AlUla Tour, which is arguably the queen stage. Considering both amateurs had ample opportunity to exchange in depth with the media reporter, it seems they didn’t have all that much to say in the way of specifics. And the first rider who seemed so keen on getting his side of the latter part out somehow didn’t find the first part of any public interest. Did they overtake the 2nd amateur at some point? - That may be so but he probably can’t say tgst as it could be considered breach of contract if he was signed up for team/JV duties, in which case we might never know because he won’t want to take the risk of having to pay like WVA. I don’t think anyone knows what was promised but he accepted a pay reduction and could easily have continued at Jayco. To be honest, I don’t think ANYBODY was still counting on him winning a GT at that time, hence why he’d never got any interesting offers before. And then it happenedMistermaumau29-01-2026
