Jonas Vingegaard's first Visma Giro d'Italia teammate is already known - "I can't wait to put myself at the service of the great champions"

This Tuesday, the riders from Team Visma | Lease a Bike will talk to the media and publicly talk about their racing schedules, which should be well established with one week left for the start of the season in Australia. Jonas Vingegaard will have his Giro d'Italia debut confirmed, and his first teammate for the Corsa Rosa is already publicly known.

"For me, the move to Team Visma | Lease a Bike is a dream come true. I can't wait to put myself at the service of the great champions I have on my team," Filippo Fiorelli told La Sicilia. "And I'll do so starting with the 2026 Tour Down Under". The Italian rider is making his World Tour debut at age 31 and is one of the riders whom the Dutch team is taking a gamble on.

The two-year deal was signed and in great part due to the potential seen in Fiorelli. The Italian rider for example showed great sprinting, puncheur and even climbing skills at this year's Giro d'Abruzzo and showed that he is still well capable of putting in great performances. However as he recently shared, he was in no way used to the nutrition methods that are used at Visma, and this sort of structural change can make for a meaningful improve in the former Bardiani rider - and can reap the same benefits in other riders that were signed from smaller structures, such as Fiorelli's compatriot Davide Piganzoli who joined Visma from the Polit VisitMalta team.

Piganzoli is expected to race the Giro d'Italia next spring, but the first rider to share that he will do so is Fiorelli. Fiorelli will be returning to the Giro but now in very different circumstances, and most likely in a domestique role for the Dane who is aiming for the pink jersey before preparing for the Tour de France. However more of his schedule is known, as he makes his debut in the team at the upcoming Tour Down Under; and in March already has Strade Bianche and Tirreno-Adriatico dialed down in his schedule.
