At Liege-Bastogne-Liege 2025 this Sunday afternoon, Uno-X Mobility won't be seen in their traditional red and yellow. Instead, the team pays tribute to one of the iconic jerseys of yesteryear as they don a throwback 7-Eleven jersey, something Magnus Cort Nielsen is hoping to do justice to at the Monument.
Speaking to Feltet.dk at the startline, the experienced Dane looked delighted to be wearing the classic kit of the legendary team from late 80s and early 90s. "Yes, I definitely think it is cool," answered Cort Nielsen when asked if he likes the new look. "I've also seen a lot of positive responses to the jersey, so that’s really cool."
"This Sunday, we’re not racing in red and yellow. We’re racing in history. Uno-X Mobility is reviving the iconic Team 7-Eleven," an Uno-X Mobility team statement on social media read when announcing the kit change. "For one day only, we’re reviving Team 7‑Eleven - not just as a tribute to cycling tradition, but as a celebration of the strong partnership between Uno‑X and 7‑Eleven, both proudly part of the REITAN family."
For Magnus Cort however, there is hope that this might not actually be just a one-off special. "It wouldn't be bad if 7-Eleven decided they wanted to be a full-time sponsor," he explained with hope. "It’s fun to have a stunt like this, and even if it’s just for one day, it’s still pretty cool!"
