Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux battle to keep Alexander Kristoff onboard

Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux have signed Alexander Kristoff for this season on a one-year contract, however the bond may increase as the Belgian team are interested in keeping it's leader for the upcoming years.

He was recently rumoured to be a big possibility to join the Norwegian Uno-X Pro Cycling Team, however very quickly Het Nieuwsblad reported that the Belgian team is looking to keep it's top sprinter on it's ranks and that there is a preference for a contract of at least two years.

It was also said other teams were in contact with the 34-year old, one of them being Cofidis who has joined the battle to take up another sprinter. Kristoff has perhaps passed the prime of his career however there is large interest for the Norwegian rider who has this year impressed with a career-first solo win at Scheldeprijs. Wins at the Clasica de Almeria and at the recent Tour of Norway come as a big bonuses for him and Intermarché who are having an overwhelmingly positive season.
