Arvid de Kleijn takes stupendous sprint victory at Milano-Torino

Tudor Pro Cycling Team have had a big change this year as they aim higher in the world of cycling, and they have taken their most important win today as Arvid de Kleijn sprinted to victory at Milano-Torino.

The pan-flat race was not prone to breakaways, but five riders went up the road to shoot their shot. Stefan De Bod (EF Education-EasyPost), Alessandro Iacchi (Team Corratec), Johan Meens (Bingoal WB), Alessio Nieri (Green Project-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè) and Veljko Stojnic (Team Corratec) went up the road.

The breakaway was caught with 11 kilometers to go. Nothing could be done to prevent a bunch sprint, with all teams fresh and with heavy amounts of riders towards the front. This tension led to crashes, with pre-race favourite Dylan Groenewegen crashing inside the final kilometers as did Matteo Malucelli.

Team DSM and Tudor Pro Cycling Team managed to have a strong leadout in what was a very tense finale. The finish line came quite fast with several sprinters out of position. Arvid de Kleijn was the first to launch his sprint in sight of the line and the Swiss team have taken a very important win as the Dutchman sprinted to victory, beating Fernando Gaviria and Casper van Uden.
