"I was like three wheels behind Enric. He just came off the road and flipped" - Matteo Jorgenson describes Enric Mas' fall

With Enric Mas out of the race, Movistar's gameplan has to quickly adjust to the new situation. The Spanish team travelled to Bilbao with a Mas as sole GC leader and a group of potentially stage hunters who'll be given a free hand now.

Matteo Jorgenson lets out a bit of steam with social media press. "It was a shit day. I was like three wheels behind Enric. He just came off the road and flipped. I stopped immediately, because he was our leader. I just rode to the line from there. It's super unfortunate."

The young American who celebrated his 24th birthday before the stage would be the most suitable replacement for Mas but whether he or his team have the ambition remains to be discovered.
