Greg van Avermaet has won his first bike race in almost 4 years. The Belgian, who will retire at the end of his season, has been racing a modest French calendar recently and has this afternoon won the Boucles de l'Aulne.
The former Olympic Champion has been having a difficult seasons with AG2R Citroën Team, and has largely been absent from this spring. However he's been improving his form, and has won the French classic today. He beat Florian Vermeersch and Jon Barrenetxea in a reduced group sprint at the end of the hilly race.
