Very serious, as always in front of the press, Tao Geoghegan Hart described how he felt after finishing third in the long time trial of the Giro d'Italia, one second behind teammate Geraint Thomas and two seconds behind winner Remco Evenepoel.
He commented that he didn't want to risk it because of the conditions and didn't know if he was doing well: "I felt good, which is the most important thing, I didn't want to take risks in the corners, it was dangerous, and that made me not know if I was doing well, but I guess it's normal for a race like this. I'm happy, tomorrow is the rest day."

He also believes he knows the answer to his improvement in the discipline, where he also finished among the best on the opening day. "There are new regulations and to be honest I feel much more comfortable on the time trial bike now. In the end, when you are in good conditions, you can get a good time," he explained.
Finishing third only two seconds behind Remco Evenepoel and one behind his teammate Geraint Thomas, Hart has now climbed to fourth in the overall classification, 50 seconds down on the World Champion who has once again put on the pink jersey.
