Groupama - FDJ will be targeting the Tour de France with a climber-heavy lineup, and they have in the meantime confirmed to be targeting the Giro d'Italia's sprint stages as they bring in Arnaud Démare and a full leadout in support of the Frenchman.
Démare is yet to win this season, but he has five stage wins at the Giro throughout his career, four of which in the recent 2020 edition. The Frenchman is looking to return to his winning ways and the team that will be backing him up is of great quality. His full lead-out will be present, with Jacopo Guarnieri, Ramon Sinkeldam and Miles Scotson. Although these are the men that will lead him through the final kilometers, the presence of Ignatas Konovalovas, Tobias Ludvigsson and Ignatas Konovalovas add serious firepower to the French team's ambitions to have Démare in a winning position in all sprints.
To conclude the team is Attila Valter who will be the team's sole climber. The Hungarian will have the first three days of racing in his home country, and will specifically be eyeing the pink jersey on the opening day. Having just finished fifth in the recent Tour of the Alps, he's not to discount on a possible overall classification stint, however it is more likely that the 23-year old will be chasing stage wins.
