In a surprise twist this week, Wielerflits reported, there has been a manifestation of interest by Visma | Lease a Bike on its former rider, inquiring about his future and signalling a potential offer.
Roglic enjoyed several years with the team from 2016 to 2023, winning the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a Espana three times as well as finishing on the Tour de France podium with the Dutch team.
Unibet Rose Rockets' Roglic interest
However, after the emergence of reported Visma interest, another suitor has seemingly emerged in the form of the ambitious ProTeam
Unibet Rose Rockets - the popular growing team that enjoyed a first Grand Tour invite to the Giro d'Italia this year.
Speaking to Belgian broadcaster
Sporza, Rockets founder Bas Tietema acknowledged that they had conversations with Roglic about his future, signalling that a rider of his calibre would be a huge asset to the team.
"In the past, we had already been in contact with Primož through our videos. And when he had that serious crash before the Vuelta, we were also in contact. At that point, he was still searching a bit.
"There are still a number of riders who will extend their contracts. We're also looking at how we can put together the strongest possible team for next year."
Tietema is not rushing to make any deals, and stressed that the ball is in Roglic's court when it comes to his continuation in the sport - never mind with the Rockets.
"There are still some riders on the market without contracts, but we don't want to make any rushed decisions.
"I think he would be a great rider for almost any team. But we simply have to see whether Roglič is a realistic option for us. And I think he still has to decide whether he wants to remain a professional cyclist at all."
Roglic attracts interest from several teams
Over the months, Roglic's name has been associated with several teams. Most prominently was Tudor Pro Cycling Team, and his comments after the end of the season indicated that he had an offer on the table.
Lotto - Intermarché has also been strongly linked with the Slovenian, which would make for one of the market's most unexpected moves if it was to happen.
To a minor degree, the Dutch news outlet also reported that Pinarello - Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team and XDS Astana Team have shown interest in signing the veteran, who has now been in the World Tour for over a decade.
