Tirreno-Adriatico has seen it's queen stage slightly cut. The final ascent to Sarnano-Sassotetto has seen it's final 2 kilometers scraped off today's stage as the weather conditions at the top made it unsafe to run the race.
Whilst at Paris-Nice the first 117 kilometers have been cut, the Italian race does not see such a critical situation. The final climb has had it's distance removed but is nevertheless set to be 10.7 kilometers at 7.3%, difficulties which should not affect the outcome of the day significantly and will see the same riders battle for victory.
"Due to the weather conditions of strong wind on the top of the mountain, RCS Sport, the race Organisation, has decided to anticipate the finish line compared to the previously planned one, in order to ensure the greatest safety of the race and of all its actors," race organizers have announced on social media.
