Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale have revealed
their lineup for the upcoming Vuelta a España and it is a climber-heavy team.
Felix Gall leads the way after a brilliant Tour de France where he finished in the Top5, but the team comes in without a sprinter and several other climbers who can shine throughout the upcoming three weeks.
Although the leader is Felix Gall, who finished the last Tour de France at a very good level and there is no doubt that he should be a podium contender. The team will be carefully eyeing the performances of youngster Léo Bisiaux, after he won a mountain stage at the Vuelta a Burgos age 20 and rode on to third in the final overall classification alongside Isaac del Toro and Lorenzo Fortunato on the final podium. The team will be eager to see how another one of it's top talents will do in his Grand Tour debut, after the breakthrough of Paul Seixas.
Bisiaux will likely have a supporting role for Gall, however, at least to begin with, and will be joined by Callum Scotson, who is joining Gall after superbly supporting him at both the Tour de Suisse and Tour de France. Sander de Pestel comes in as road captain and an important man for the flat stages.
Elsewhere the team is likely giving freedom to it's riders. Johannes Staune-Mitter is making his Grand Tour debut for Decathlon and is a work in project for the French team, so will be an interesting GC outsider; whilst Bruno Armirail, Nans Peters and Jordan Labrosse should all be aiming for breakaway wins on the many hilly and slightly mountainous days of the race.
Felix Gall
"This Vuelta a España will be my second Grand Tour of the season. During the last few weeks I've focused mainly on recovery, as the short time between the Tour de France and the Vuelta is quite demanding. I feel fit and ready. There are a lot of hard stages in this Vuelta, and they will come fast, so I will soon know where I am physically and what my ambitions can be. We have a very strong and balanced team, with riders for every type of stage."

DS Julien Jurdie
"This Vuelta a España 2025 presents a difficult route and promises to be very interesting. We are going with a double objective: on the one hand, to achieve the best possible general classification with Felix Gall; on the other, to fight for a stage victory. We have a team ready to tackle the mountain stages, with good climbers who will naturally be able to accompany Felix and take their chances in the breakaways."
