Movistar Team have announced their lineup for the Tour de France where they will be supporting Enric Mas' GC aspirations. The Spanish team doesn't have a particularly strong team as they're having resources focused on the other Grand Tours, but are hopeful of a strong result.
Mas finished the Tour in fifth place two years ago and sixth last year - besides fifth and second at the Vuelta a España - and will be looking to improve on that this year. Although he's put on some strong climbing performances this year, crashes have hindered him, most recently at the Critérium du Dauphiné where he had to abandon the race. In his absence, Carlos Verona rode to a stage win and Matteo Jorgenson rode to 13th, now both will be playing a crucial supporting role for the Spaniard.
Gregor Mühlberger and Gorka Izagirre will too, although the team is expected to be stage hunting throughout the race. Nelson Oliveira is also an interesting option for the rolling stages and the final time-trial which should suit the Portuguese specialist.
Rounding out the team are two rouleurs, one in Imanol Erviti who will be starting his 28th Grand Tour and will be one of the most experienced faces in the peloton, and the other will be Albert Torres who has developed himself as one of the most reliable domestiques for Mas.
Movistar Team for Tour de France: Enric Mas, Carlos Verona, Matteo Jorgenson, Imanol Erviti, Gorka Izagirre, Nelson Oliveira, Gregor Mühlberger and Albert Torres.
