Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale are bracing for a dramatic
transformation in 2026. According to multiple reports from the likes of
Wielerflits, the team is expected to part ways with no fewer than ten riders at
the end of this season, a shake-up that includes key figures such as Sam
Bennett, Dorian Godon, and Benoît Cosnefroy.
This represents a significant shift for the French squad,
which currently sits 11th in the UCI team rankings and has already notched up
16 victories this year. The changes follow the departure of Ben O’Connor at the
close of 2024, after he secured an impressive second place overall at the
Vuelta a España.
Looking to reinforce their ranks, Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale
appear to be targeting some high-profile signings. Two riders from Team Visma |
Lease a Bike,
Olav Kooij and
Tiesj Benoot, are reportedly set to join for the
2026 season. There is also speculation that Daan Hoole from Lidl-Trek and Cees
Bol of XDS Astana Team could be on their way to the French outfit too. Whilst
none of these reports have been confirmed as of yet, it seems certain that we
will see a new look Decathlon squad by the first race of next season.
