Jumbo-Visma are set to announce the signing of multiple strong riders for the 2023 season, which as a consequence will see some of it's current riders leave the team. One of them is Chris Harper who remains without a contract for the coming year.
Harper rode to fourth place at the UAE Tour in 2021, but has since seen his potential fade, mostly as he rode into a domestique role within the team, far away from the spotlight of the blocks that achieved great success in the classics campaign and the Tour de France. Harper recently rode to ninth place at the Sibiu Tour and is a possibility for the Vuelta a Espana, however it's unlikely to be a deciding factor.
Velonews reports that there is interest from Team BikeExchange - Jayco in Harper. This would end up being a logical contact, seeing as Harper is one of Australia's best climbers and has highly focused on the early-season Australian calendar over the last few years.
With Simon Yates, Dylan Groenewegen and Michael Matthews signed, the team is not fearing relegation and is on the hunt for new riders for the coming season in the market, and the 27-year old may be one of them.
