After a two-year absence from the calendar, the WorldTour one-day race @BemerCyclassics is back! Our seven guys for this Sunday 👇
Lotto Soudal are urgently seeking UCI points and at the BEMER Cyclassics is a good opportunity to make a difference. As one of the world's best sprinters Caleb Ewan will have the responsibility to perform for the Belgian team, as a winning candidate to the race.
As a winner of the race in 2016 the Australian has proved to be capable of succeeding in the short punchy climbs and fast finish in Hamburg, and will be looking for a win. Crashes and illnesses have seen him underperform this year, now with already four months without a win to his name. After a very disappointing Tour de France, the 'Pocket Rocket' looks to get back into the rhythm.
He will have Jasper de Buyst and Reinardt Janse van Rensburg to support him if the race is to come to a bunch sprint, however Lotto Soudal have more weapons at their disposal in case the attacks leave a big mark in the peloton. Brent van Moer and Florian Vermeersch have assisted the Australian at the Tour de France, but they are also powerful riders that are capable of riding well on such terrain.
Tim Wellens can be described in the same form, however after a disappointing Tour he's also not shown signs of good form at the recent Tour de l'Ain. Frederik Frison completes the lineup, likely with the role of chasing down the early breakaway.
Lotto Soudal for BEMER Cyclassics: Caleb Ewan, Jasper De Buyst, Frederik Frison, Brent van Moer, Florian Vermeersch and Tim Wellens.
