Andrii Ponomar joins Team Corratec - Selle Italia in mid-season transfer

Andrii Ponomar has found a new team. The rider from Ukraine left his former team Arkéa-Samsic at the beginning of August, and is now moving to Corratec-Selle Italia. When announcing his departure, it was indicated that it had to do with the fact that Ponomar wanted to be with his family, but here and there were also rumors that a spot for Arnaud Démare had to be made.
"I am very happy to start again from Italy and in particular from Tuscany," Ponomar said in team press. "A region where I took my first steps in the Juniores category. The Italian calendar has many races that suit my characteristics and in which I expect to achieve good results. A new challenge begins and it's great to be part of Team corratec – Selle Italia, a young team in which I'm sure I'll fit in very well. I hope to repay the trust with some good results.¨"
