It is the second win of the season for
Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux as they leadout
Alexander Kristoff perfectly into the win of the
Clasica de Almeria.
Lukas Pöstleberger (BORA - hansgrohe), Gilles de Wilde (Sport Vlaanderen - Baloise) and Xabier Mikel Azparren (Euskaltel - Euskadi) marked the break of the day. The trio never had much of a gap to play with but resisted until 18 kilometers to go as Arkéa - Samsic, Israel - Premier Tech and Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux putting on the majority of the chasing.
A bunch sprint was expected and came true in the streets of Roquetas de Mar, the leadout was chaotic with many teams looking to get their sprinters in the head of the peloton but it was Intermarché who got to the final 500 meters in front and as the road slightly tilted to the line inside the final 150 meters, Alexander Kristoff launched his sprint and managed to hold off his rivals to take his first win of the season.
Nacer Bouhanni and
Giacomo Nizzolo took the remaining spots in the podium.
