2024 Tour de France to finish in Nice instead of Paris, confirmation imminent

For quite some time it has been suggested that the Tour de France may soon end away from Paris, and with the Olympic Games taking place in the French city in 2024, it seems to be creating a perfect mix for the Grand Boucle to have it's finale elsewhere - and that location seems to already be decided.

A report from Gazzetta dello Sport this weeks assured that the 2024 Tour de France will end in Nice and that an official confirmation could come as soon as this week. This has been for the last few months heavily reported, and is most likely due to the presence of the Olympic Games around the same period of time in Paris, which would put an extreme amount of logistics strain on the race organizers.

The race is also currently having some information being released towards it's opening days, with the start set to take place in Florence, Italy. The race will have three stages fully inside Italy and may include finales in Torino and Pinerolo, before returning to French territory in the fourth day of racing.

Over the past decades the race has always ended in Paris, and this summer it has crowned Jonas Vingegaard has the new yellow jersey in his maiden Grand Tour. He is expected to return next season, alongside Tadej Pogacar who is looking to take back his titles, with Egan Bernal looking to return and many other contenders in the mix.
