a world.class athlete being this much better than he was just 5 years ago is suspicious.. The fact that he is percentage points better than anyone else in a sport that is not based on skill but ability is curious. Hi bike isn't better, they all train amazingly hard, yet he wins by minutes, not seconds. People are going to talk.13-07-2026 13:51

Van Aert should not be on the Visma team for the TDF. He is broken after his Spring victory and Visma needs every bit of power to challenge Pogacar.09-06-2026 19:04

I am not sure how one could conclude that Pogacar's TDF plans are not affected. Soler, Vine and Yates are usually in the TDF roster. I don't know if Tadej has won a tour without Marc Soler.11-05-2026 15:52

I love cycling and have been watching for years, but it is true that the spector of cheating hangs over the sport. In a day where seemingly every edge from diet to sleep to individualized training at a micro level, it just seems unlikely that 1 rider would be this much better than everyone else. Jonas Vingegaard can climb as well, but he can't sprint or compete in the classics against Poggi. Van der Pol and Van Aert can maybe match his power, but they are just too big to climb like he does. In track and field, no one wins the 5000m and the 400m. I hope he is clean, and it is great to see how much he loves to race, but I will always be suspicious.09-10-2024 18:27

Look, I realize that Evenepoel is a great cyclist, but everyone keeps going on and on about how he "redeemed himself" on stage 14, and what an amazing ride he had. The truth is, a rider so far back in the race went on a breakaway and no one chased him because why would they. There are plenty if riders that could have chased him down if they wanted to, but that made no siense considering how far behind he is. Everyone needs to quit acting like he made up for his failing on stage 13.10-09-2023 15:15
