The cyclocross season ended for many with the World Championships in Hulst on February 1st. That particularly applies for the men who have their road obligations which includes the entire podium from Hulst; Mathieu van der Poel, Tibor del Grosso and Thibau Nys. After a long winter programme, the past week and a bit were therefore a perfect opportunity for brief holiday.
For Nys, this was a perfect opportunity to enjoy some time relaxing with his girlfriend Anna Eikendal, and a group of friends. As a destination, the Dutch-speaking group chose Austrian Alpes, although specific destination was kept a secret (unless you're a geoguesser).
Besides alpine skiing, the group also enjoyed time within their accomodation; such as a cold outdoor pool and a bar, as is evident from Eikendal's Instagram story.
Back to work, Nys kicks off his road season with the GP Miguel Indurain on April 4th, a race he won on his season debut year ago. This will be followed by the Itzulia Basque Country, the Ardenne classics, and Eschborn-Frankfurt.

Monte Livata is an interesting one, because they experimented with it at the 2026 Baby Giro, and it was fantastic. 4 km at 10%, then 10 km at 6.5% made for a great spectacle.
