"Hoping for Tom Pidcock, eh," were the words of Herentals race organiser, Erwin Vervecken after being snubbed by both Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel earlier this week. It seems Vervecken and more organisers won't have to wait long to find out Pidcock's plans.
According to reports by Wielerflits the 24-year-old, INEOS Grenadiers rider who won the Cyclocross World Championships in 2022, has been in conversation with various race organisers, sounding out their plans ahead of revealing his official return calendar.
With INEOS refusing to officially confirm Pidcock's return to cyclocross this winter and the fact that last year, he'd already begun his campaign on the 19th of November, some were concerned that one of the sport's three, biggest stars would not take part in this season.
“It will only be really interesting to start a campaign when we know definitively where the Big Three will compete against each other,” says Christophe Impens of Golazo. We shall soon find out when and where that will be the case!
