Puck Pieterse takes maiden World Cup win in mud-filled Overijse race

In the UCI World Cup Overijse, Puck Pieterse won his first title. In the first lap, she took off and gradually increased distance with each lap, eventually winning the World Cup.

Hélène Clauzel started the nice lead, but it didn’t take much time for Puck Pieterse to place herself in the lead. By the end of the first lap, she enjoyed 19 seconds lead over Fem van Empel. Denise Betsema and Aniek van Alphen crashed in the second lap.

Because of the rain, the course was slick and muddy, which led to an increase in accidents. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado enjoyed victory yesterday, but it was not her day in Overijse. She crashed in the second last lap.

By the last lap, Pieterse gained more than 1 minute lead against van Empel. She crossed the finish line and celebrated the first World cup victory of her career. Fem van Empel satisfied herself with silver. Shirin van Anrooij took the bronze.
