Belgian Cycling has announced the selections for the Gavere World Cup. Wout van Aert will lead the team and hunt for his second victory.
Van Aert will once again battle against Mathieu van der Poel for victory. Van Aert missed the Val Di Sole race last weekend. Michael Vanthourenhout celebrated victory in the Val Di Sole, so it will be interesting to see how he will perform in the Gavere.
Eli Iserbyt started the season with a bang but is lacking results in the last few races, however seems to be recovering from his Val di Sole crash. A new name we get to see is Tim Merlier. This will be his second race of the season after Cyclo-cross d'Orée d'Anjou. Jens Adams and Laurens Sweeck are also part of the team.
In the women's squad, Sanne Cant will be missing the race. Prior to continuing the season in January, she wanted to take a small break to give her body a rest. We see some quite talented names on the list, including Alicia Franck, Marion Norbert-Riberolle, and Laura Verdonschot. Julie De Wilde is also on the team.
