Team SD Worx were the obvious dominating team in the women's field this year in cycling and the battle for the Velo d'Or was between two of it's riders. Demi Vollering was elected the winner of the prestigious award.
Vollering was the winner of the Tour de France Femmes but from start to finish experienced a very strong season. Beating Lotte Kopecky, she won among others Strade Bianche, the full Ardennes triple, the Vuelta a Burgos and Tour de Romandie Féminin.
