Tomorrow the Tour de France route will be unveiled and this night many of the big figures of the sport united in Paris. Jonas Vingegaard was not present but he sent a video message thanking the voters.
"It's a big honour for me to win the Velo d'Or award. When I see all the names winning in the past it's a crazy feeling to also now be a winner of it," he said. "I'm very happy to meet the icon of cycling Eddy Merckx who's going to gift this award for me. It's very special he's such a big icon and always winning all year round and I try to do the same, win all races that I'm doing and I'm very happy with it at least."
