We take a look at the
startlist the women's elite
World Championships road race, taking place in Kigali. The race that will take place on the 27th September. It is expected to start at 12:05CET and finish at 16:45CET. It will finish many strong contenders for the rainbow jersey including Tour de France Femmes winner and runner-up
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and
Demi Vollering who will be amongst the main favourites for the race.
The race is lacking some of the big figures in the peloton such as Lotte Kopecky and Lorena Wiebes who find here a course that is focused on those that are strong climbers, whilst Kopecky - the defending champion - simply did not have good form throughout the past few months and has made the decision not to make the trip to Rwanda.
Download the startlist in A4!The time-trial event saw Marlen Reusser take a dominant win and the riders are going to face the same climbs on the road race with automatically makes the Swiss rider a very important figure to take into consideration in any scenario. The Dutch duo of Anna van der Breggen and Demi Vollering completed the podium and they will be leading a very strong Dutch team here which also includes the likes of Riejanne Markus, Pauliena Rooijakkers and Shirin van Anrooij.

The favourites in Kigali
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot is a very big question mark into the race but the truth is she could take another win in a historic season that already includes victories at Paris-Roubaix Femmes and the Tour de France Femmes, and with the likes of Cédrine Kerbaol, Juliette Labous, Evita Muzic and Maeva Squiban, the French could also well take the title.
Ceccillie Uttrup Ludwig, Niamh Fisher-Black, Urska Zigart, Chloé Dygert, Mavi García, Liane Lippert, Elisa Longo Borghini and Katarzyna Niewiadoma will also be amongst the favourites for the race.
