Win number 3 of the day for Astana! Max Kanter sprints to victory at Lotto Famenne Ardenne Classic

A hilly race but one that finished in a sprint, and XDS Astana Team continue to bring in massive UCI points. After Matteo Malucelli won the final stage of the Tour of Turkey and Wout Poels conquered the overall classification, the Kazakh team has taken their third win of the day at the Lotto Famenne Ardenne Classic as Max Kanter sprinted to victory.
The race did see some attacks but ultimately no-one managed to stay away in the end, and in a tight sprint the German took his first win of the season, a surprising comeback to good form right before the Giro d'Italia where he will be present. He beat Arne Marit, whilst Cees Bol's presence in the podium - only by themselves - brought an extra 195 UCI points towards their search for a World Tour license.

- You were wondering how come MVDP is rated higher by whoever and the way JM refers to a website. Obviously they’re all somehow ranking which means attributing a score to performance. As I said, no idea how but one reason he may be ranked higher is if more than just wins are counted. Like at the Olympics, some rank by gold, some prefer considering all medals, usually in order for a preferred country/athlete to look better. At some moment, in order to rank more than wins, every ranking or algorithm has to attribute points or value to different positions in order to tally and compare.Mistermaumau28-05-2025
