Giulio Ciccone has prevailed in the second stage of the
Volta a Catalunya after finishing ahead of
Primoz Roglic and
Remco Evenepoel in the final finish on the hill. The Italian surprised the two favorites with a perfect sprint on the final climb to Vallter 2000.
Remco was undoubtedly the one who spent the most during the last kilometers of the climb and ended up paying for it in the final meters. He attacked 300 meters from the finish line and Ciccone took the wheel very well to end up passing him in the final straight. Roglic tried, but it was too late and he had to settle for second place.
