It is a rare sight but one that unfortunately usually brings big consequences. In Guatemala at the
Vuelta Bantrab, footage emerged of a dramatic crashed caused by a spectator who ran against two riders in the finale of stage on the third stage.
Two riders were in the head of the race when a spectator - likely aware of the race ongoing - ran into the road at the exact moment where the riders were passing by her, causing Colombian rider Daniel Méndez to crash. Despite this, he still went on to finish the stage in fourth place, on a day that was won by Tour Colombia winner Rodrigo Contreras.
