After surviving a crash caused by a rogue dog earlier in the stage, Remco Evenepoel must have thought his bad luck for the day was over. Sadly for the Belgian however that was not the case.
With the roads wet, slippery and downright dangerous, the Soudal - Quick-Step leader and favourite for the overall victory at the Giro d'Italia hit the deck for a second time in the final few kilometres. A silver lining for Evenepoel though is that as the incident happened within the final 3km, no time-gaps were caused by the crash.
Thankfully Evenepoel was able to re-mount his bike and although visibly frustrated, the reigning World Champion crossed the line alongside his teammates.
