Six stage wins, a near ten-minute time gap to second place and more outfit changes than a runway model at Milan Fashion Week, Tadej Pogacar has been front and centre of everything at the 2024 Giro d'Italia. This was again the case on stage 20.
The final 'proper' stage of the 2024 Giro d'Italia before the processional finale in Rome, stage 20 has seen Tadej Pogacar make it a scintillating sixth stage win with yet another performance for the ages on the Monte Grappa climb, much to the surprise of no one. As in truth, the writing was on the wall for this latest success last night, when Pogacar announced his intention to ride for the stage.
Behind Pogacar, the rest of the general classification challengers largely cancelled each other out as Daniel Martinez and Geraint Thomas secured podium finishes and Einer Rubio saw the biggest gains of the day, moving up to 7th overall.
