The 2024 Giro d'Italia is nearing its final conclusion and the riders are enjoying champagne and using opportunities to take photos with their team mates. Just as has been the case throughout the Giro this year however, Tadej Pogacar can't help himself from riding.
During the usual processional part of the final stage of a Grand Tour, Pogacar and his UAE Team Emirates teammates were on the front and working as if hunting down the breakaway in search of yet another stage win. Using his role as a patron in the peloton, the vastly experienced Geraint Thomas, who will finish the race third overall travelled up to Pogacar to ask what the hell what going on! Then, joined by fellow veteran Alessandro De Marchi, Thomas moved himself up to front of the bunch and implored UAE Team Emirates to relax the pace a little bit.
