Bahrain - Victorious are riding the 2023 Tour de France in memory of the late Gino Mader, their teammate who tragically passed away recently after a crash at the Tour de Suisse. After claiming victory on stage 19, all the emotion of the past few weeks overcame Matej Mohoric.
The Slovenian was part of a three-man group alongside Kasper Asgreen and Ben O'Connor after a crazy day that was more like a Spring Classic than a stage of the Tour de France. In a three-up sprint to the line, Mohoric edged out Asgreen in a photo finish and afterwards, broke down in tears.
