Stage 1 of the Volta a Catalunya saw a dramatic and exciting sprint finish between Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel. However just before the day saw a more dramatic moment as several riders crashed at speed towards the end.
With just under 6 kilometers to go on stage 1, the very tense peloton saw many riders come down in a descent. A touch of wheels between Adam Yates and Kristian Sbaragli kicked off what was a difficult situation. Several riders were involved including Michael Storer, and Dario Cataldo which seemed to be the worst affected.
