Update: Alexis Vuillermoz stable after Tour de France collapse, cites fatigue

The ninth stage of the Tour de France proved to be a calmer one than expected for the GC riders, however in the peloton there was drama as after crossing the finish line, it is said that Alexis Vuillermoz collapsed, and was subsequently taken to the hospital.

The news came from TV2 reporters Dennis Ritter who was in the scene. He pointed out that it was not a critical situation, with the medics seemingly calm. The Frenchman has himself already resorted to Twitter to calm the nerves of fans and explain that extreme fatigue had caused the event, having suffered through fatigue and vomiting on the bike. He's added that he tested negative for Covid-19 after the stage.

Vuillermoz' most recent success came at the Critérium du Dauphiné, where the TotalEnergies rider won the second stage into Brives-Charensac and wore the yellow jersey for a day.
