UCI World Tour Teams Ranking Update: Danger signs flash for Tom Pidcock's Pinarello Q36.5 and Movistar, as fight for World Tour spots heat up

The fight to stay in the UCI WorldTour tightens as the Vuelta a Espana heads into its second week. The latest update to the world team ranking brings major shifts at the bottom end, driven largely by the Bretagne Classic, where a big Cofidis win has sounded the alarm bells for Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team and Movistar Team. No changes in the top 10, with UAE Team Emirates - XRG still leading.
Alex Aranburu took that win, with the Basque rider’s victory giving Cofidis the points needed for a strong rebound. The French team jumps three places this week to 16th, edging slightly away from danger as Bryan Coquard also won a stage at the Vuelta a Espana.
Lotto-Intermarché also come out stronger, climbing three places to 15th. The Belgian squad took fifth at the Bretagne Classic through Jenno Berckmoes, a result with direct consequences in a ranking where every point is starting to carry huge weight.
The big losers in this update are Movistar Team and Pinarello-Q36.5. Both teams drop three places and see their situation worsen in the battle to avoid relegation.
Movistar on the brink
Movistar Team slip to 18th, virtually on the edge of the relegation zone. The telephone-backed squad managed just 48 points in the French classic, courtesy of Jon Barrenetxea, Roger Adrià, and Natnael Tesfatsion.
The three-place drop leaves Movistar on 7,258 points, only 26 ahead of Tudor Pro Cycling Team in 17th. The threat behind is even greater: Pinarello-Q36.5 are just 71 points back.
Pinarello-Q36.5 drop into the relegation zone
The situation is even more delicate for Pinarello-Q36.5, who also fall three places and slide into the relegation spots in 19th, with 7,187 points. The Swiss team now sit behind Movistar and less than 100 points from the Spanish outfit. Any strong result in the coming races could trigger fresh changes in a survival fight that looks extremely tight.
One key detail to note over these weeks: points earned at the Vuelta a España have not yet been added to this ranking. That means Enric Mas’ victory on Alto de Aitana, as well as any points he and his teammates collect during the Spanish Grand Tour, are not yet reflected on the table. These results will be added once the race finishes, with the finale scheduled in Granada on the 13th September.
Therefore, the current table does not yet show the impact Movistar’s Vuelta campaign may have. Enric Mas’ lead and the team’s strong showing could become a crucial source of points in the relegation battle.
Pidcock remains inside the overall top 10
Cofidis and Lotto-Intermarché breathe easier
While Movistar and Pinarello lose ground, Cofidis and Lotto-Intermarché gain vital breathing room. Cofidis jump from 19th to 16th after Aranburu and Coquard's wins, while Lotto-Intermarché rise to 15th thanks, among other results, to Berckmoes’s fifth place.
The upshot is a tightly compressed block from 15th to 20th. Just a few hundred points separate several teams, so any win, podium, or standout result could completely reshape the order.
Up front, by contrast, there are no changes in the top 10. UAE Team Emirates-XRG continue to lead by a wide margin over Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe and Team Visma | Lease a Bike.

The relegation battle now enters a decisive phase. Lotto-Intermarché and Cofidis have briefly escaped the hot zone, while Tudor, Movistar, and Pinarello-Q36.5 are separated by just 97 points.
But the picture could change dramatically once Vuelta a España points are added. With Enric Mas in red and Movistar Team poised to keep scoring, the standings are far from settled.

If he would win it, he would be the first cyclist in history to win four Monuments in the same year, while being second in one (Paris-Roubaix).
