UCI Rankings Teams Update | UAE remain dominant leaders as Astana continue great escape against World Tour relegation

Another week and another set of big wins for UAE Team Emirates - XRG as Juan Ayuso secured the GC triumph at Tirreno-Adriatico 2025, further strengthening the team's hold at the top of the UCI Rankings. In the fight against World Tour relegation meanwhile, XDS Astana Team continue to edge closer to a great escape.
You can check the previous update here. An extra 800 points were added to UAE Team Emirates - XRG's tally since, mostly because of Ayuso's aforementioned victory at Tirreno-Adriatico, but a Paris-Nice stage win for Joao Almeida also kept the counter ticking over nicely.
As mentioned though, it's near the bottom of the rankings where the real excitement is. Cofidis remain around 2,500 points clear of Astana in the fight for the final World Tour spot for the next cycle. Compared to their advantage at the same time last week though, the French team's buffer has alarmingly cut by around 300 points. In fact, if both Cofidis and Astana continue to pick up strong results, it might actually be Team Picnic PostNL most at risk.

- maybe. what makes that a LITTLE fishy is that they suddenly hit the gas and started hammering it. even mathieu, who i’ve never heard complain about ANYTHING (other than teenage girls waking him up and being spit on by belgians) was pretty hacked off about the race tactics after the split. i think he was upset for what his teammates had to do, not for the fact he ended up isolated as a result.OCexile31-03-2025
