Juan Ayuso has made an exceptional start to 2025, and he is now the leader of the UCI World Ranking. The Spaniard of UAE Team Emirates - XRG recently claimed overall victory at Tirreno-Adriatico, and as such, pushes out his teammate
Tadej Pogacar from the top spot.
Ayuso has already won the Faun Drome Classic, the Trofeo Laigueglia, plus both a stage and the overall title at Tirreno-Adriatico this year. This remarkable achievement makes him the first cyclist to surpass 1,000 points in 2025.
In second place, following a strong performance in Tirreno, is
Tom Pidcock. Although he hasn't won any major races yet, Pidcock has made an impressive start to the season in his debut with Q36.5. Third place belongs to Pogacar, who, as a reminder, didn’t race in either Tirreno-Adriatico or Paris-Nice last week.
Rounding out the top 5 are Christian Scaroni, the revelation from the remarkably improved XDS Astana Team, and
Jhonatan Narváez, who is still riding high on the success of his Tour Down Under performance.
Javier Romo holds onto the sixth spot for Movistar Team. After his victory in the final stage of Paris-Nice, Magnus Sheffield sits in seventh, just ahead of the consistent
Pello Bilbao.
The top 10 is completed by
Finn Fisher-Black (still benefiting from his strong performances in Australia) and
Matteo Jorgenson, who triumphed at Paris-Nice. On the edge of the top 10 is Joao Almeida.
