UCI Rankings Team Update | Tadej Pogacar's Giro boosts UAE Team Emirates into absolute domination; Decathlon and INEOS second and third

The Giro d'Italia has provided all World Tour teams with a big chance of making a difference in the UCI Rankings. UAE Team Emirates already had a large lead over the rest of the competition, but after Tadej Pogacar dominated the race, that lead has grown to even higher levels.

When it comes to this, there isn't even any team that can compare. UAE led Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale by around 6400 points in the previous update and now the difference is of around 7800 points; despite the French team also growing their lead against their rivals. UAE scored over 3500 points since the previous update.

Decathlon itself also made true progress over the past weeks, not only finishing fourth at the Giro d'Italia with Ben O'Connor but also dominating the 4 Jours de Dunkerque with Sam Bennett who won 4 stages and the overall classification. The French team continues to solidify it's impressive second place in a 2024 season that is thus far being significantly above expectations.

UCI Rankings Rider Update | Tadej Pogacar conquers over 3000 points at Giro d'Italia; Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert climb up ranks as Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic lose positions

In third place is now INEOS Grenadiers, who has just over 9000 points; climbing from 6th spot since the last update. A meaningful part of this is because of Geraint Thomas and Thymen Arensman's 3rd and 6th spots at the Giro d'Italia.

Lidl-Trek and Alpecin-Deceuninck descended to fourth and fifth place, overtaken by INEOS Grenadiers; whilst Team Visma | Lease a Bike lost two positions and instead of 5th is now 7th in the rankings. BORA - hansgrohe climbed from 8th to 6th in the rankings after Daniel Martínez surprised to a second place in the overall classification of the Giro.
