NEW: Austin professional cyclist Colin Strickland has just released a statement about the murder of cyclist Moriah Wilson, clarifying his relationship with her and expressing “torture about my proximity to this horrible crime.”
Gravel pro Moriah Wilson was found dead in the 11st of May in Austin, Texas, where she was preparing for a race in the area on the coming weekend. The news came as a shock to the cycling world, however today's revelation may perhaps be even more shocking as Kaitlin Armstrong, partner of Colin Strickland, was issued an arrest warrant.
The report claims that the warrant came as a result of "connection with the shooting", and it could possibly be related to a vehicle that had been present in Wilson's house in the night of the incident.
The news were advanced by Cyclingtips who have confirmed that the warrant has been issued towards Kaitlin Armstrong. Armstrong is the partner of Colin Strickland, one of the most successful pro riders in the men's field of gravel racing.
The American rider has in the meantime came out with a statement acknowledging the proximity to the case. That he and Wilson had a romantic relationship at the end of last October - before re-conciliating with Armstrong.
