UAE Team Emirates late addition into second season of Tour de France: Unchained

Tadej Pogacar was still the major absentee in the first series of Tour de France: Unchained, but the Slovenian top favorite will play a role in the second season of the Netflix series. Streaming service Netflix has announced that UAE Emirates will also be part of the series about the Tour 2023.

"Hi, I'm Tadej Pogacar and we are participating in the second season of Tour de France: Unchained on Netflix," says Pogacar in a short promotional video on social media. At the time of recording, he will not have known that he would suffer a major breakdown in the battle for the overall victory in the stage over the Col de la Loze.

According to journalist Daniel Benson of GCN, a comment should be made about the participation of UAE Emirates in the Netflix series. All images will be supplied by the team itself and will not be shot by cameramen from Netflix, who cooperate with France Télévisions. In addition, there are interviews with key riders, but not at the level of the other participating teams.

In June 2023, the first season of Tour de France: Unchained premiered. A total of seven teams participated in this, including Jumbo-Visma, Soudal Quick-Step and Alpecin-Deceuninck. For second season, all of the teams from season 1 should return while we'll get extra content from UAE Team Emirates and also about Mark Cavendish.
