After crashing out of the 2023 Giro d'Italia, Tao Geoghegan Hart may have ridden his final Grand Tour for the INEOS Grenadiers. With his contract expiring at the end of the year, the 28-year-old is attracting interest from Trek - Segafredo.

In a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport, the well-informed journalist Ciro Scognamiglio reveals that his sources tell him that Trek - Segafredo are very interested in bringing the 2020 Giro d'Italia winner to the team and they see him as the perfect man to lead them in their hunt for Grand Tour success.

At this current point in time, Trek - Segafredo are without a real general classification contender for the Grand Tours with Giulio Ciccone currently their best hope. Instead the American-based team prefers to hunt for breakaway stage wins through the likes of Bauke Mollema, Toms Skujins and Quinn Simmons plus in sprints through Mads Pedersen.

The bringing in of a proven Grand Tour winner such as Tao Geoghegan Hart would be a clear change of tactics for Trek - Segafredo although any deal may prove unlikely as the INEOS Grenadiers are reportedly very keen to tie the British rider down on a longer deal.
