General Classification Standings after Stage 1
Stage 1 has already blown the 2026 Tour de Suisse general classification wide open, with
Tadej Pogacar taking the first race lead after his extraordinary long-range solo around Sondrio.
Pogacar starts stage 2 with a commanding advantage of 2:22 over Richard Carapaz, while Andrea Bagioli sits third at 2:39 after limiting the damage better than the main chase. Ilan Van Wilder, Mathias Vacek, Brandon McNulty and Wilco Kelderman lead the next group at 4:16, with Matthew Riccitello just behind at 4:18.
The biggest GC damage came further down the standings.
Primoz Roglic is already 4:58 back after the opening stage, while Enric Mas sits 6:48 behind Pogacar. In a five-day race still to feature an individual time trial and the final mountain stage in Villars-sur-Ollon, Pogacar has already built the kind of margin that forces every other contender into damage control.
