Tour de France 2026 prize money: How much did Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel and Isaac del Toro earn?

The 2026 Tour de France takes place from 4 to 26 July. Over 21 stages, the peloton tackles high mountains, sprint finishes, cobblestones, as well as individual and team time trials, with the world’s best riders on the start line. We explain how the prize money is distributed.
The total prize purse for the 2026 Tour de France amounts to €2,305,800 and comprises all classification and stage-result payments. In addition, more than €270,000 goes to riders’ unions. The winner of the general classification receives €500,000, while each stage winner earns €11,000. The first 20 riders in each stage and in the final general classification receive prize money. The winners of the points and mountains classifications each receive €25,000.

Each table relates exclusively to the rider’s or team’s final position in the relevant classification. The total prize money earned by each rider will be published at a later date following the conclusion of the final stage in Paris.

After three intense weeks, the final outcome of the 2026 Tour de France has been decided. Tadej Pogačar arrives in Paris as the overall winner and will consequently receive the largest prize. The remaining riders in the top 20 are also rewarded according to their positions in the general classification. The following table shows the final standings and the corresponding prize money.

Points classification
Mads Pedersen finishes the 2026 Tour de France as the winner of the points classification. After numerous bunch sprints, intermediate sprints and consistently strong finishes, the Dane arrives in Paris wearing the green jersey. The top eight riders in the final classification receive additional prize money.

Mountains classification
Richard Carapaz secures the mountains classification at the end of the 2026 Tour de France. His points on the toughest climbs enabled him to finish ahead of Tadej Pogačar and Valentin Paret-Peintre. The top eight riders in the final mountains classification receive prize money in Paris.
Pogačar and Carapaz each received €5,000 for winning the special classifications on the Tourmalet and Galibier respectively. Pogačar crossed the Tourmalet first, while Carapaz led over the Galibier, securing the mountains classification in the process.

Young rider classification
Isaac del Toro wins the young rider classification at the 2026 Tour de France. After three weeks of racing, the Mexican finishes ahead of Paul Seixas, Lenny Martinez and Juan Ayuso, arriving in Paris as the race’s best young rider. The top four riders in the final young rider classification receive prize money.

Intermediate sprints will give €1500, €1000 and €500 respectively for the first three spots.
