Tour de France 2026 Classifications Update Stage 9 - Mads Pedersen extends green jersey lead as Tadej Pogacar remains untouched in yellow

The 2026 Tour de France classifications will shift across three weeks of racing, from the Grand Départ in Barcelona on 4 July to the final stage in Paris on 26 July. Across time trials, sprint stages, breakaway opportunities and the high mountains, each day can alter the shape of the race for yellow and the Tour’s other major jerseys. Here we look at the race's classifications and update them on the daily - including the fight for the yellow jersey.
This live classifications hub is updated after each stage of the 2026 Tour de France with the latest General Classification, Points Classification, Mountains Classification and Best Young Rider standings. As the race develops, it tracks the key movements in the fight for the yellow jersey, green jersey, polka-dot jersey and white jersey.
The General Classification remains the central battle of the Tour, but the wider standings often tell their own stories as the race moves through different terrain. Sprint stages can reshape the points competition, mountain days can transform the polka-dot jersey fight, and the white jersey battle can change quickly when young contenders are tested across repeated days of pressure.
With 21 stages and four major jersey competitions to follow, the Tour de France standings can change through time gaps, bonus seconds, breakaway moves, sprint points, mountain points and decisive race incidents. This page will follow those changes throughout the 2026 Tour de France.

General Classification Standings after Stage 9
Tadej Pogacar retained the yellow jersey with his 2:42 advantage over Jonas Vingegaard unchanged, while the top nine remained intact. Bernal returned to the top 10, Tobias Halland Johannessen climbed two places to 11th and Tom Pidcock gained two positions to 13th. Further down, Sepp Kuss and Tiesj Benoot each rose three places, reaching 20th and 25th respectively.

Points Classification Standings after Stage 9
Mads Pedersen strengthened his grip on the green jersey, adding 40 points through his intermediate sprint victory and fifth place in Ussel to reach 268. His advantage increased to 45 points over Biniam Girmay, who collected 20 points at the intermediate sprint and moved above Tim Merlier into second.
Merlier slipped to third after being dropped early, while Jasper Philipsen remained fourth on 191 points. Pogacar moved up to eighth on 87, ahead of Anthony Turgis on 79, while Isaac del Toro climbed three positions to tenth.

King of the Mountains Standings after Stage 9
Tadej Pogacar retained the polka dot jersey with 28 points, nine ahead of Jonas Vingegaard. Valentin Paret-Peintre moved above Paul Seixas into fifth after leading over the Cote de Naves, while Tom Pidcock’s seven points across the Suc au May and Cote de la Croix du Pey carried him into the top 10. Isaac del Toro remained seventh on 10 points.

Youth Classification Standings after Stage 9
Isaac del Toro retained the white jersey, seven seconds ahead of Juan Ayuso and 28 seconds clear of Paul Seixas. Davide Piganzoli moved up to fifth, with Lennert Van Eetvelt, Ramses Debruyne and Pablo Castrillo each gaining one place. Breakaway riders Alex Baudin and Valentin Paret-Peintre made the biggest advances, climbing four and five positions respectively to enter the top 10. No rider switches are apparent in this table.

- Weird way of arguing to dispel suspicion. Let’s try another weird way to argue suspicion. There is no evidence any anonymous member of the public wants to harm children but would you leave when your child is in a playground and some guy is sitting around close by? It’s hunan nature to be suspicious and up to a point, healthy and useful, don’t tell people to stop. Some of the statements are downright silly, if anyone could prove it, there would be no point in accusing it would be fact. There are enough reasons to be suspicious, besides those that get repeated, how about the number of other riders where there was never proof or evidence who later admitted having doped or got caught out retrospectively? In any case, even if something were revealed it’s unlikely to be definedas doping, they’d be really stupid to try that AGAIN, but anything unfair that technically isn’t classable as doping will be argued as being legal and allowed. Anyone who knows Mauro knows how his lawyers work and the freedom it gives them in searching for no-risk solutions for advantages. - Tadej Pogačar is facing another wave of doping allegations on social media and from skeptics following his historically dominant performances at the Tour de France. I want Vingegaard to be put through a scanner and analyzed in detail because it is impossible that in the 2nd toughest race in the world in May in the toughest sport, he made all 180+ cyclists look like amateurs with 80% strength. - You can see the problem with the opening stages being GC focused. There are only 9 riders in the race who are fighting for GC. The tenth spot will not be filled by a GC rider, and it will simply be the breakaway climber who loses the least time. Compare that with last year, where there was an interesting battle to stay in the top 10, between Ben Healy, Ben O'connor and Jordan Jegat, with O'connor having to settle for 11th. In 2024 it was even better, as Matteo Jorgenson, Derek Gee-West, Santiago Buitraigo and Giulio Ciccone battling it out. Having the GC open from the start means that only riders who came aiming for it end up doing it. You don't get riders who end up up there almost accidentally.
