As we finally reach the first rest day of the 2025 Tour de France, it is EF Education-EasyPost's Ben Healy who leads the general classification standings. The stage 6 winner couldn't add another victory on stage 10, but a heroic breakaway performance has seen him usurp Tadej Pogacar and become just the 4th Irishman in history to don the Maillot Jaune.
Having started the day 3:55 down, Healy got himself into the breakaway and was a constant presence right at the front throughout the day. Although for the majority of the stage he was relatively comfortably in the provisional race lead, Team Visma | Lease a Bike exploded the GC group behind towards the end, giving Healy a very nervous wait after he crossed the line in 3rd on the day. In the end though, Pogacar seemed content to pass on the Maillot Jaune, rolling home alongside Jonas Vingegaard 4:20 down on Healy, giving the Irishman a 29 second GC advantage over Pogacar.
Remco Evenepoel lost a handful of seconds on Vingegaard and Pogacar at the line, but the Belgian remains 2nd overall. The day's big casualty was Kevin Vauquelin with the Frenchman not having a happy Bastille Day and dropping from 3rd to 6th on GC now 2:26 down and behind both Vingegaard and Matteo Jorgenson.
Completing the top-10 then are Oscar Onley in 7th at 3:24, Florian Lipowitz (3:34), Primoz Roglic (3:41) and Tobias Johannessen (5:03).
