Romain Bardet has been one of the leading French riders in the modern era of the
Tour de France, securing stage wins, a polka-dot jersey and even a podium finish over the course of his career. He may have retired after the recent Criterium du Dauphine, but it seems Bardet simply can't stay away from his home Grand Tour.
"Soigneurs for the day," reveals a post by the official social media pages of
Team Picnic PostNL, moments after Bardet was spotted handing out bottles at the side of the road by the TV camera bikes. "We have some special help handing out bottles the Tour de France today, with locals Romain Bardet and
Romain Combaud spending their Bastille Day road side. What great teammates! Let us know if you spot them on the coverage."
With
Oscar Onley still very much in GC contention as the race heads into the mountains for the first time on stage 10, Picnic PostNL will be hoping the presence of Bardet can inspire the Scot to another standout performance.
