Tim Merlier won't settle down with runner-up at Renewi Tour: "I'm already looking forward to Saturday, when we hope to have another chance"

In the first stage of Renewi Tour Tim Merlier had to bow down before king of 2023 bunch sprints - Jasper Philipsen. Even then, the Soudal Quick-Step rider believes he can succeed in the second opportunity that awaits sprinters on Saturday.
"The finale was very hectic, which was normal given that all the sprinters were quite fresh. The squad did a very good job and worked hard the entire day but at the end you get punished for the small mistakes. Despite this, the morale is strong and I'm already looking forward to Saturday, when we hope to have another mass gallop," Merlier explained after the stage.
