With a space opening up at the Team Visma | Lease a Bike squad following the sudden retirement of Lennard Hofstede, it seems the team has selected their man.
The man in question in 34-year-old Belgian, Julien Vermote and according to reports made by Wielerflits, team and rider are close to an agreement that would see the former, Alpecin, Cofidis and Quick-Step rider among other teams, join the all-conquering Team Visma | Lease a Bike.
Following his departure from Alpecin-Fenix at the end of 2022, Vermote was kept active during 2023 at local Belgian races. As such, this move marks a second chance at the World Tour for the former Tour of Britain stage winner.
